Our premium first-flush, organically grown "Sencha" hails directly from one of the finest green tea growing regions in the world -- Shizuoka Japan. This lightly steamed ("asamushi") tea has a distinctive emerald green leaf that brews up an exquisite cup that is slightly oceanic & grassy in aroma, rich & smooth in taste.
Sencha represents more than 80% of the total production of teas coming from Japan with many different varieties and levels of quality available. Ours is made using the first two (youngest) leaves and bud picked only during the prime growing season of late April to early May. Its needlelike leaves release an aroma of freshly cut grass, having a mouthfeel rich with tannins and light umami notes and a finish that quickly softens. (contains caffeine)
