2020 is the year that keeps on keeping on, so it seems. With no shortage of dramatic headlines facing you day after day, we hope you’ll join us for some relatively calm and pleasant updates from our friendly little online tea house.
Update: Compostable Packaging
Our effort to migrate toward Compostable Packaging is back on track! With supplies of plant-based packaging materials (PLA) increasing, we have secured our spot in line and are currently printing labels and getting ready for the rollout which we anticipate may happen by the start of 2021, if not sooner. We’ll share more on our website about the new packaging and how to best care for and store your tea once the new supplies are in use. We sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding as we waited through the massive shortages in PLA materials during late 2019 and much of this year.
New Gift Tin Options
Our gift tin category just got a little bigger. We just added several new options to our small gift tins collection featuring more of our most popular teas, including Vanilla Sky, House Chai, Ginger TLC and Vanilla Rooibos. And, our decadent Sugarplum blend is now available in one of our large square tins just in time for the holiday season. Enjoy this warm and inviting tea on its own or use it to make spiced cider or mulled wine. (Check out the recipe on the Sugarplum page.)
Our small round tins hold between 1.25 and 2.5 ounces each while our larger square tins hold 2 to 4+ ounces depending on the density of the tea. Small or large, our tins make a great storage container for tea in your cupboard or desk drawer. We hope you’ll find them to be a great option when sharing the healthful gift of tea with friends and family. Check out the entire collection on our Gift Tins page.
New Sale & Clearance Items Added
Check out our Sale & Clearance page for several new additions. We’ve recently put a few teas on special and have several new sale packs available while supplies last. Save up to 50% or more!
As you well know by now, 2020 has been full of many complicated issues to say the least. While we are still experiencing far-below-normal business with our wholesale clients (cafes, stores, restaurants, etc.), we are grateful for the continued support by our online customers, like you! We are also sincerely grateful to have been spared by the devastating wildfires that burned just a handful of miles from our facility. While we stood by for days on a Level I evacuation notice earlier in September, we were able to maintain pace with our blending, packing and shipping without missing a beat. We send out a huge thank you to the first responders in our area and all around the country who risk their own safety and well-being for the masses. It truly takes a village in the sense that we all have our calling, skills, and contributions toward making our world a better place.
In the days and weeks ahead, we hope you’ll participate in one of the greatest opportunities to have a voice in our country by voting. Study up on the issues and let your voice be heard on the ballot. VOTE!
We hope you enjoy a lovely month of October and wish you good health, peace and a renewed sense of hope along the way. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your tradition of enjoying great tea; this is a privilege we do not take for granted.
