This elegant spring picked organic black tea is produced by the Kanchanjangha Tea Estate near Taplejung, Nepal. It is crafted with beautiful, slender young leaves from an organic-certified tea garden carefully nurtured in the foothills of Mt. Kanchanjangha - the world's third highest mountain. The leaves brew up a deep golden liquor with notes of caramel and baked fruit. It is low in astringency and big in taste making this a great medium to full bodied tea to enjoy all by itself.
The Kanchanjangha Tea Estate was established in 1984 as a co-operative designed to strengthen and sustain a higher quality of life for the inhabitants of this rural, mountainous community. Proceeds from the sale of the estate's teas stay in the community and are pooled to provide essentials such as: education for the children of the co-ops full time farmers; shelter and subsidized food for the workers; the establishment of a cow bank that provides farmers and their families with added resources and income; clean and safe drinking water and so much more. - Carefully steep 2-3 grams leaf with 205F degree filtered water for 3-4 minutes. Enjoy 3-4 re-steeps. Experiment with different steep times to reach desired flavor.
