Our Wonder Woman herbal blend is not only beautiful to look at, it is a most delicious, slightly minty, slightly floral caffeine-free tea that can be enjoyed at any time. In it, we combine soothing organic nettle, raspberry & peppermint leaf, chamomile flowers, ginger root, dandelion leaf, oat straw, horsetail, stevia and rose petals. Each ingredient was carefully selected for not only its taste but also for its potential function.
Nettle: In the forest, nettle isn't always appreciated by the average passer by given the stinging effect of touching its leaves. However, nettle tea has been long used by nutritionists and in natural medicine to promote kidney health, improve digestion, boost immunity, reduce inflammation, for detoxification, and treating menstrual cramps.
Raspberry Leaf: The red raspberry leaf is rich with vitamins and minerals and contains helpful polyphenols like tannins and flavonoids which act as antioxidants to protect cells from damage.
Peppermint Leaf: Adding a fresh and bright minty flavor to the blend, peppermint leaf tea is commonly enjoyed for its positive effects on digestion. This minty herb also has antibacterial properties that may improve allergy symptoms, headaches and clogged airways.
Chamomile Flowers: Chamomile flower tea has been used in folk medicine for centuries, though researchers are currently doing more to learn about the potential medicinal benefits of this beautiful member of the daisy family. Chamomile is most commonly sought for anti-inflammation, relaxing, digestive health, stress relief and stimulation of the immune system.
Ginger Root: Helpful in so many ways, ginger root is largely sought after for its antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, digestive, antispasmodic relaxant properties.
Dandelion Leaf: According to the National Institutes of Health, dandelion has long been used in traditional Native American, Chinese, and Arabic medicine to promote liver and gallbladder health. Today, it is sought as a digestive aid and liver cleansing tonic.
Oat Straw: Produced from the seeds, stems and flowers of the oat plant, oat straw is widely used by herbalists for everything from bone health to cognitive function. Oat straw is rich in calcium, potassium, iron, vitamin A, vitamin C, dietary fiber and antioxidants.
Horsetail: This ancient "grass" has a long history of medicinal use dating back to early Roman and Greek civilizations. In Ayurvedic medicine, horsetail has been used to soothe nerves, nourish brain cells and body tissue. Horsetail's silica content is believed to promote skin, nail and hair health.
Stevia: This naturally sweet plant has been used to add sweetness to tea and other foods and beverages since at least the 16th century. Sweeter tasting than table sugar, stevia is generally classified as having zero calories.
Rose Petals: Aside from adding aesthetic beauty to this and other herbal blended teas, rose petals contain natural antioxidants and vitamin C. As a tea, rose petals have been used in various traditions to ease menstrual pains, prevent chronic disease, boost the immune system, detoxify the body, relieveinfections, stimulate mood and regulate sleep cycle. Rose petals also add a fragrant "floral" note to the final brew.
